What is the Define Zone Maps Feature?
The Define Zone Maps feature allows you to create a Zone Map using your floor plans and symbols to represent the different types of assets and where they are located on the floor plan.
When an inspection form is submitted, the corresponding report will also be broken down by zone and location. This, along with color coding for test results makes it much easier to determine where a specific asset is located if it needs to be retested or even repaired. You can also use Zones to group devices for a specific area of a building. For example, all devices located in the Break Room at a location could be grouped into a Zone named Break Room.
Additionally, the Define Zone Maps feature gives you the ability to sort assets in the assets list using the following fields:
- Zone
- Map #
- Map Position #
- Asset Type
- Mapped (Yes/No)
Note: You must add the needed assets to an Assembly in FormLink before they can be mapped.
An overview of the features available on the Define Zone Maps page is shown below.

A Zone Map also appears on the inspection report, making it easy to refer to the map when you are reviewing the report.
